About The Role Our position of Chief Accountant, based in Casablanca, Morocco.Chief Accountant Morocco, is responsible for performing accounting activities in accordance with group-wide & national accounting principles and standards within the assigned scope. S / he documents and reviews the organization’s financial statements and positions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, as well as reporting requirements. Additionally, provides expertise and technical solutions for the system / processes enhancement and supports development and implementation of different projects and process improvement initiatives. This function gets guidance and support from the Manager Accounting & Tax Compliance EEMEA on complex activities, ad hoc requests, as well as key issues in the execution of duties. Key Responsibilities Include
- Preparing financial statements, closing the books, and preparing the necessary paperwork for financial reporting purposes (IFRS and statutory)
- Consolidating and preparing the reporting of financial entities and produce compliant internal as well as external reporting
- Governing the quality, consistency, and integrity of financials
- Developing, deploying, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies as well as directives
- Deciding on the accounting treatment of individual complex issues (judgment-based perspective)
- Overseeing internal control frameworks and ensuring the design efficiency as well as operating effectiveness of internal controls
- Consulting with various Finance and IM / IT committees to anticipate and addressing potential accounting issues
- Developing and sharing accounting expertise as well as knowledge
About You
Master’s in Accounting, Finance or similarEnglish business proficiency both written and oralTechnical proficiency (e.g., SAGE – ERP systems, Microsoft Office, etc.)Having experience in accounting with full scope of statutory reporting (min 5 years of experience in position at manufacturing company / Center of Expertise)Having experience in a multinational company, preferably in B2B and / or food industriesHaving strong communication skillsKnowledge of accounting, financial methodologies and reporting - very good knowledge of Moroccan accounting standards and tax law (VAT, CIT, WHT), IFRSAbility to work in a multicultural diverse environment and under pressureBeing Analytical, hands-on, flexible, solutions oriented, self-motivated, keen on sharing knowledge and independenceAll applications must be submitted in EnglishAt Barry Callebaut, we are committed to Diversity & Inclusion.
