Position Summary :
The Academic Advisor and Activities Coordinator is a dual role responsible for providing academic guidance to students while also leading the design, implementation, and management of a diverse range of student engagement activities. Key Responsibilities :
Academic Advising :
- Individual Advising – Meet one-on-one with students to discuss academic goals, provide guidance on course selection, and identify opportunities or challenges related to their academic journey.
- Academic Planning – Assist students in developing short-term and long-term academic plans, ensuring that they are on track to meet graduation requirements.
- Resource Referral – Connect students with campus resources such as tutoring, counseling, and career services to support their academic and personal success.
- Monitor Academic Progress – Regularly review student progress and intervene as necessary to ensure students stay on track, offering strategies for improvement when needed.
Student Engagement & Activities Coordination :
Program Development – Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive array of student engagement activities that cater to diverse student interests, backgrounds, and needs.Event Planning & Coordination – Oversee the logistical planning and execution of student events, including securing venues, coordinating with vendors, and promoting events.Engagement Metrics – Track student participation in activities and assess the effectiveness of programs, making necessary modifications for continual improvement.Stakeholder Collaboration – Collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and other campus departments to ensure a diverse offering of events and activities.
