The main focus of the Controller Morocco is to manage the legal Moroccan entity and team, as well as large intercompany transactions.
Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the timely, complete and accurate execution of the month end processes in accordance to internal agreed guidelines / checklist, in addition to coordinating and supervise the team's tasks for such compliance.
- Supervise the accurate inventories flows of plants, packaging and fruit and related operations on a monthly basis.
- Ensures the accurate tax flows, statistics compliance and reports.
- Interacts with other departments to improve pro-actively (accounting) processes affecting the company’s financials; using insights into how the team integrates with other teams to coordinating efforts and resources to achieve shared and individual objectives. Prepare documentation and reconciliations needed.
- Lead / Develop & coach the finance team to grow the financial capabilities, support the team in the management of their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Responsible for Management reporting, such as margin analysis and balance sheet review.
- Supervise and coordinate the timely preparation of the yearly Statutory accounts (Morocco GAAP, USA GAAP) and tax related requirements.
- Process Improvement : Will work in cross-functional teams, as required to improve subsidiary accounting and financial reporting processes.
- Corporate Governance : Will help ensure compliance with all global audit and internal control compliance requirements.
- Participate / lead pro-actively in pan-European and global projects
- Will represent Driscoll’s in an ethical and professional manner in all interactions with co-workers, growers, vendors, governmental agencies, and customers of Driscoll’s and ensure the confidentiality of all financial, proprietary and confidential information.
- Act as an ambassador of the corporate values and behaviors around compliance, collaboration, corporate governance and finance control processes
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education & training
Completed University degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Extensive knowledge of Moroccan GAAP and local tax / customs requirementsExperience
7-10 years of professional accounting, finance and / or reporting experience, preferably in an accounting firm5+ years of experience in managing a teamExperience with large ERP software : For example Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, TagetikSkills & behaviors

The EMEA finance team (background)
The EMEA finance control team (50 colleagues) is responsible for

As Controller Morocco you are reporting into the EMEA controller and are part of the Finance leadership team. You will work closely with the finance controller Iberia. The main focus of the Controller Morocco is to manage the legal Moroccan entity and team, as well as large intercompany transactions. You will work as a business partner with local and EMEA (senior) management.At the same, the controller Morocco, will be involved / leading pan-European or global projects, as well as the EMEA consolidation and reporting activities.The finance team in Morocco and consists of 4-5 FTE and is physically located in our offices in Agadir and Moulay.The position requires frequent travels to Moulay , to growers and coolers.The local finance team is responsible for the financial accounting, compliance and reporting of the Moroccan legal entity.The Moroccan controller serves as the point of contact and expert in tax and customs related matters concerning the Moroccan law.KEY RESULTS AREA
