Role: Android Automotive Application Developer
Micla Engineering & Design is expanding its automotive software practice in Morocco. We are building a team to develop in-vehicle applications for one of the world's largest carmakers, on production vehicle programs.
You will work on the software the driver actually sees and touches: infotainment and instrument cluster applications running on modern automotive platforms.
What you will do
- Develop Android applications for in-vehicle infotainment and instrument cluster systems
- Build and maintain user-facing features: media, vehicle settings, connected services, system UI components
- Integrate with vehicle data and platform services through automotive APIs and abstraction layers
- Work on smartphone projection integration
- Collaborate with UX designers on the in-vehicle user experience, including voice and assistant interactions
- Write testable code and contribute to automated test coverage in the CI/CD pipeline
Required:
- Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or related field
- Strong Android development: Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, application lifecycle, Jetpack components
- Understanding of Android architecture beyond the app layer: services, IPC, permissions, system apps
- Git, and experience working inside a CI/CD pipeline
- Professional English — daily work with international teams
- Availability for occasional international business travel
Valued:
- Android Automotive OS (AAOS) or AOSP experience; system or privileged app development
- Automotive HMI frameworks; Jetpack Compose or custom UI at scale
- Vehicle interfaces: CAN, Automotive Ethernet, vehicle property APIs
- Emulator-based development workflows
- C/C++ for native layers and JNI
- Voice assistant or conversational interface integration
